About the position

The Strategic Sourcing Analyst position at UCSF supports the IT community by proposing solutions and leading initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency, sustainability, and reducing supply chain risks and costs. The role involves engaging with internal customers, stakeholders, and suppliers to identify product categories for strategic focus and to cultivate relationships that enhance the sourcing process.

Responsibilities

• Propose solutions and lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency and sustainability.
• Identify and manage issues of diverse scope and complexity within the supply chain.
• Engage with internal customers and campus stakeholders to create effective sourcing solutions.
• Identify product categories that require strategic focus.
• Cultivate contacts within the Finance organization and with suppliers to enhance sourcing knowledge.
• Facilitate procurement contract and pricing negotiations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent experience/training.
• 3+ years of relevant progressive experience in sourcing or procurement.
• Strong analytical skills to gather and organize data for sourcing assignments.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to present information clearly.
• Strong organizational and decision-making skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in a related area or equivalent experience/training.
• Experience supporting stakeholders in an academic IT setting.
• Knowledge of public procurement policies and/or UC BUS 43.
• Familiarity with strategic sourcing policies, practices, and systems.
• Ability to manipulate and report on spend, pricing, and RFP scoring data.
