About the position

The Strategic Sourcing/Commodity Manager at Gemini, Inc. is responsible for leading the development and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives for assigned commodities. This role focuses on optimizing supply chain performance, ensuring cost efficiency, and fostering strong supplier partnerships. The manager will conduct market analysis, manage supplier relationships, and align procurement strategies with company goals to drive continuous improvement and business success.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for assigned commodities to meet supply and financial goals.
• Track market trends to adjust commodity strategies accordingly.
• Lead fact-based negotiations to ensure best total cost and continuous supply.
• Present commodity strategy updates and trends to leadership and key stakeholders.
• Provide periodic overviews of commodity strategy effectiveness.
• Manage pricing in line with market conditions, driving annual cost reductions regardless of market fluctuations.
• Identify, onboard, and develop suppliers aligned with Gemini's strategic goals.
• Use supplier performance data to drive improvements in quality, delivery, and cost.
• Conduct regular supplier reviews, fostering strong performance or addressing underperformance.
• Collaborate with plant and distribution teams to ensure operational efficiency and customer service alignment.
• Engage with Supplier Quality Management to meet quality targets (50 DPPM).
• Complete comprehensive risk management assessments of the supply base through formal assessment tools, audits and analysis, coupled with face-to-face and on-site interactions.
• Perform risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate supply base risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of professional sourcing experience.
• Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making abilities.
• Excellent negotiation skills with a proven record of cost management.
• Ability to interpret market trends and drive strategic pricing decisions.
• Skilled in identifying and executing cost-saving initiatives.
• Technical proficiency in interpreting drawings and specifications.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
• Strong communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive, with a strong sense of urgency.
