About the position

The Strategic Sourcing Data Analyst Intern at MSA Safety is a co-op/internship role designed for students pursuing a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management. This position focuses on engaging in sourcing activities, negotiating with suppliers, and supporting the Sourcing team in various projects aimed at cost reduction and efficiency improvements. The intern will gain hands-on experience in sourcing strategies, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration within a purpose-driven company committed to safety and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Engage in sourcing-based activities with suppliers by negotiating price, quantity, and delivery of material.
• Perform RFQs for new and existing material to ensure the best cost, quality, and delivery for MSA.
• Assist Sourcing on the development of sourcing strategies and a project pipeline for planned sourcing projects.
• Undertake sourcing projects that result in cost reductions for MSA and analyze material data to drive consolidation of spend.
• Create and maintain SAP Master Data, including vendor master records and purchase info records.
• Participate in periodic standard cost roll procedures to update material costs.
• Contribute to New Product Development Teams by providing input on procurement and material stocking.

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management.
• Completed at least one semester of Sophomore year.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with organizational and analytical skills.
• Interpersonal relationship skills.
• Proficient use of Excel and Word.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience using Power BI.
• Experience using SAP, Access, and PowerPoint.
