About the position

The Strategic Sourcing Director will report to the VP of Operations and is responsible for overseeing the strategic sourcing, quality, and production of products for United Sports Brands. This role involves managing vendor relationships, optimizing costs, ensuring product quality, and collaborating with various internal departments to meet financial goals and deliver high-quality products on time.

Responsibilities

• Manage relationships with factory partners and contract manufacturers, including qualifications and cost negotiations.
• Develop and maintain a vendor network to ensure quality products and uninterrupted service.
• Source new suppliers as needed and establish annual cost-saving goals.
• Develop metrics and scorecards to track supplier performance and improve quality.
• Work closely with the Supply Chain team to understand forecasted demand and ensure adequate capacity.
• Monitor factory performance related to service and delivery, and adjust plans as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards, overseeing product testing and research.
• Establish and enforce production and quality standards with suppliers, managing quality control initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in sourcing, QA processes, and product development in the sporting goods industry or related fields.
• Minimum 3 years of leadership experience.
• Experience working with overseas factories in Asia and Central America.
• Effective communication skills and adaptable communication style.
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with team members, customers, and vendors.
• Time management and organizational skills for planning and executing projects.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills for addressing routine and complex issues.
• Advanced knowledge and experience with spreadsheets and Microsoft Office tools.
