About the position

The Strategic Sourcing Manager I at Dawn Foods is responsible for negotiating and managing contracts, creating strategies to leverage opportunities while managing risks, and optimizing results to benefit the company. This remote position requires occasional travel to the corporate office in Jackson, MI, and involves working under general supervision to drive productivity, quality, and service in procurement.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and manage contracts in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Manage risk and initiate strategies to drive productivity, quality, and service.
• Create and modify strategies to take advantage of opportunities and manage risks.
• Communicate effectively and construct presentations for review with Senior Management.
• Serve as the internal and external expert for the Procurement function for their categories.
• Stimulate the creative process of others to deliver new solutions and construct compelling strategic opportunities.
• Optimize team and personal results via appropriate prioritization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field with 3 years of related work experience, or 7 years of related work experience in lieu of a degree.
• Knowledge of general supply chain processes, procedures, and inventory management concepts.
• Strong negotiation, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with various departments.
• Proficiency with EXCEL, ACCESS, and PowerPoint; SAP experience preferred.
• Proficiency with data extraction using ERP systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Preferred experience of managing a portfolio.
• Food distribution/manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
