About the position

The Strategic Sourcing Operations Manager at Astound Business Solutions is a pivotal role responsible for managing vendor relationships, supporting internal teams, and overseeing circuit inventory and optimization projects. This position requires a proactive sourcing professional who can effectively engage with various stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of sourcing strategies aligned with the company's business plan. The role emphasizes individual achievement and team collaboration, making it essential for the candidate to leverage their procurement experience in a fast-paced telecommunications environment.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with Sales Engineering to find solutions for sourcing inquiries and large customer projects.
  • Provide support to internal teams by answering inquiries and assisting with problem resolution related to off-net sourcing.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of vendor products, services, pricing, and promotions through regular meetings and database management.
  • Catalog and outline current agreements and SLAs for vendor value initiatives, managing performance and resolving disputes.
  • Maintain a vendor performance scorecard system to evaluate and track vendor performance based on key metrics.
  • Analyze inventory for grooming opportunities and manage the circuit groom process from approval to installation/disconnect.
  • Develop and implement training documentation and conduct training sessions for cross-functional teams.
  • Administer and maintain the Connectbase and Neustar platforms, integrating new vendors and functionalities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of telecom sourcing and technical sales team support experience in the telecommunications or cable industry.
  • Product and vendor specific knowledge of Ethernet and Wave services, Lit and Dark Fiber offerings.
  • Operational understanding of telecommunications contracting, ordering, provisioning, and billing processes.
  • Working knowledge of telecom automation tools and vendor portals.
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a related field.
  • Strong organization skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
