About the position

The Strategic Sourcing & Supply Chain Sr. Business Analyst at Johns Hopkins Sightline plays a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency of supply chain processes through collaboration with stakeholders and the implementation of new ERP systems. This position focuses on gathering and documenting complex business requirements, providing mentorship to junior analysts, and ensuring effective project management within the functional area. The analyst will work in a dynamic environment, contributing to process improvement and technology implementation while supporting the mission of Johns Hopkins University and Medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, organize, and document business, user, and functional requirements for complex business processes.
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews to synthesize business process documentation and understand requirements.
  • Prioritize requirements based on key metrics defined by the Lead Business Systems Analyst.
  • Serve as a functional expert to translate business requirements into functional design specifications.
  • Create and document test scenarios for complex functions and conduct testing to validate functionality.
  • Create detailed business process and technical specification documentation for diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Collaborate with the Change Management training team to author and maintain end-user training documentation.
  • Develop detailed project plans by analyzing scope and milestones for moderately sized projects.
  • Provide guidance to Business Systems Analysts in requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation activities.
  • Stand in for the Lead Analyst as needed, attending meetings and providing updates to project leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, HR, finance, supply chain, information systems, computer science, or related field.
  • Eight years of progressively responsible experience in supply chain or strategic sourcing.
  • Four years of experience as an ERP Strategic Sourcing or Supply Chain system user, with skills in scoping, requirements gathering, documentation, testing, training, and support.
  • Experience with varied interpersonal and technical skills, interacting with members from all organizational levels.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in a higher education or academic medical center setting.
  • Experience with Workday or SAP.
