About the position

The Senior Analyst in Strategic Vendor Management at 7-Eleven is responsible for leading the development and evolution of the Merchandise's multi-year strategic chessboard. This role focuses on aligning merchandise strategies with the company's strategic goals, optimizing brand assortments, and providing in-depth analysis to drive decision-making and bottom-line results. The analyst will engage with various levels of the organization, including senior leadership, to present insights and recommendations, while also mentoring and developing team analysts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and evolution of Merchandise's multi-year strategic chessboard to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Optimize Private Brands, Emerging Brands, and National Brand assortment.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis and provide unbiased thought leadership to guide key decisions.
  • Connect various insights into a cohesive story and present key messages across the organization.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships within Merchandise and across the organization.
  • Engage Merch Leaders and provide thought leadership on Merchandise and vendor scorecards.
  • Develop leadership slide decks to communicate merchandise strategies throughout the organization.
  • Assist the manager in mentoring and developing analysts on the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in vendor management or merchandise analysis.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Experience in data analysis and storytelling to illustrate business cases.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools (PowerBI, Circana, Datalake, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the convenience store or retail industry.
  • Familiarity with vendor scorecards and performance metrics.
