About the position

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a highly motivated Strategy and Research Analyst to join the Business Strategies team within the SVP/COO unit. This role focuses on supporting research, data analysis, and priority projects aimed at enhancing the university's innovation ecosystem, partnership development, and asset planning. The Analyst will collaborate with various stakeholders, conduct research, improve data quality, and create impactful presentations to communicate insights effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and run data models to analyze and interpret complex information for strategic planning purposes.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support various projects, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Create and deliver high-quality presentations and briefing materials to support strategy development and implementation.
  • Distill and relay key and complex points into an easily digestible language and format, tailoring messaging to different groups of stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with leadership to standardize and systemize routine reports, dashboards, and metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, communications, applied science or related fields.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze complex data sets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to create professional presentations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in a similar role or internship is desirable.
  • Experience with or understanding of life sciences is a plus.
  • Experience with financial modeling and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with corporate relations or strategic planning processes.
  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Visio, and Power BI.
