About the position

The Strategy Director is responsible for leading the Strategy Team and collaborating with various leaders across the organization to develop and execute key strategies that enhance productivity, efficiency, and accountability. This role emphasizes the importance of Northern's leadership principles and aims to strengthen the organization's culture through effective partnerships and resource alignment in support of its mission and vision.

Responsibilities

• Inspire, develop, and lead the Strategy Team while partnering with leaders across the organization.
• Research, plan, and execute key strategies to improve efficiencies and productivity.
• Establish greater transparency and accountability in achieving organizational objectives.
• Model high energy and creativity while promoting member-focused solutions.
• Advocate for cross-department communication and collaboration.
• Engage team members in setting department goals that meet the needs of internal owners and members.
• Oversee team performance, including hiring, training, and project management.
• Partner with various departments to analyze market dynamics and product performance.
• Research and present industry trends and emerging concepts beneficial to Northern.
• Provide transparency through user-friendly dashboards for project planning and execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is required.
• Five to ten years of related experience is required.
• Supervisory/managerial experience over a branch or small to medium-sized department is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, direct reports, and outside vendors.
• Strong analytical ability, judgment, and time management skills are necessary.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the financial services industry is preferred.
• Familiarity with credit union operations and culture is a plus.
