About the position

The Strategy and Operations Manager on Capital Markets at Betterment plays a crucial role in enhancing the company's trading systems through project management and collaboration. This position requires a blend of capital market expertise and quantitative skills to drive key projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks while improving operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Steward Betterment's order management and execution systems with oversight during market hours, including regulatory reporting.
• Identify new trading initiatives and manage the project cycle from business case to implementation.
• Refine and scale business reporting metrics to support expansion across multiple business lines.
• Deliver front to back platform improvements in trading and research environments.
• Maintain awareness of the evolving regulatory environment and manage external counterparty relationships.
• Build strategic relationships across the organization, particularly with Advice & Investing, Product, and Engineering teams.

Requirements

• Experience in financial services, particularly in trading, software, or consulting.
• Strong interest in capital markets and understanding of the regulatory landscape, including FINRA and SEC regulations.
• Experience with project management and collaborative deliverables.
• Technical expertise in data manipulation and process optimization, with coding knowledge in SQL or Python preferred.
• Ability to pivot quickly and effectively, with excellent communication skills to engage stakeholders.
• Series 7 license or ability to obtain it within 3 months of hire (Series 24 preferred).
