About the position

The Strategy Planning Principal (Chief of Staff) plays a crucial role in leading the development and execution of the organization's strategic plans within the Enterprise Portfolio Management division. This position involves coordinating strategies, conducting quantitative analyses, and aligning with stakeholders to support the DRIVE Operating Model. The Chief of Staff will also provide expert guidance to enhance team efficiency, monitor progress on strategic initiatives, and present findings to senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and drive execution of strategies across the Enterprise Portfolio Management organization.
  • Develop concepts into strategies including quantitative analysis and recommendations.
  • Screen plans for strategic fit, feasibility, and profitability prior to presentation to senior management.
  • Facilitate the integration of business plans, best practices, and global perspectives.
  • Conduct external research and quantitative analysis as required.
  • Identify, research, analyze, and make recommendations to support the organization's growth objectives.
  • Team up with leadership to prioritize strategic business objectives.
  • Guide department leadership with expert advice to enhance overall team efficiency.
  • Plan and coordinate meetings effectively, keeping them focused.
  • Set key performance indicators to measure and improve organizational performance.
  • Provide hands-on support to transform ideas into reality and monitor their progress.
  • Act on behalf of the VP to answer inquiries.
  • Steer strategic business initiatives from genesis to fruition.
  • Pinpoint and address core issues within business processes.
  • Evaluate risk factors when making critical business decisions.
  • Complete special projects and initiatives with skillful oversight and support.
  • Lead meetings and workshops with meticulous planning and coordination.
  • Identify areas of improvement across the organization and make actionable recommendations.
  • Develop content, narratives, and presentations in support of the VP for internal and external audiences.
  • Present to the VP and other senior leaders as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, business administration or equivalent.
  • Five (5) or more years of equivalent work experience in information technology or business environment including project management, quantitative analysis, forecasting, process improvement or market/competitive analysis.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, analytical and critical thinking ability with time management skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong human relations and communication skills.
  • Executive presence with experience working with leadership.
  • Proven ability to lead transformational change programs.
  • Ability to create polished communications with a narrative focus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain and present complex information to all levels.
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of the DRIVE Operating Model, Common LPM, and SAFe/Agile.
  • FedEx experience preferred.
