In this role, the manager will conduct mega trends analysis and engage in extensive market research to synthesize insights that inform strategic decisions. The position also involves participating in scenario development and benchmarking, which are essential for enhancing critical thinking and decision-making processes. The manager will be responsible for building analytical frameworks and models that facilitate effective portfolio analysis and management plans in collaboration with the Business Development team. Additionally, the Strategy & Portfolio Manager will develop market segmentation and value chain models, as well as financial models, to pinpoint growth opportunities. The role requires distilling strategic insights from rigorous data-backed analysis to prioritize both organic and inorganic business opportunities. The manager will contribute to the development and implementation of standard work for the strategy process, ensuring alignment with the overall long-term strategy of GE Vernova. This includes preparing materials for senior leadership, board meetings, and executive leadership team meetings, making strong communication and presentation skills essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mega trends analysis and deep market research to identify potential growth drivers.
  • Stay informed about the regulatory environment in global markets and synthesize competitive landscape insights.
  • Participate in scenario development and benchmarking to enhance critical thinking.
  • Build analytical frameworks/models for portfolio analysis and management plans in collaboration with the Business Development team.
  • Develop market segmentation, value chain models, and financial models to identify growth opportunities.
  • Distill strategic insights from data-backed analysis to prioritize business opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of standard work for the strategy process.
  • Prepare materials for senior leadership for board meetings and executive leadership team meetings.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of work experience in management consulting, equity research, investment banking, or corporate development.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or engineering/science; MBA preferred.
  • Strong analytical and modeling skills, with experience in preparing presentations for senior management.
  • Ability to synthesize large data sets into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Experience in market research, portfolio analysis, and financial modeling.
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to work independently with high-quality results.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of the energy industry and value chain, particularly in electricity, renewable power, and energy software.
  • Experience with Python for data analysis and modeling.
