About the position

The Strategy Tutor at the University of Texas at Austin is responsible for providing one-on-one academic support to student-athletes, helping them develop effective study habits and become independent learners. The role involves assisting student-athletes in organizing their time, adjusting to collegiate academic demands, and setting academic goals. The tutor will implement learning strategies, maintain communication with staff, and uphold academic integrity while adhering to university and NCAA policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist student-athletes in developing strong study habits and skills for independent learning.
• Support student-athlete learning with strategies to organize time effectively and adjust to collegiate academics.
• Encourage the use of available tools and resources, including syllabi, calendars, and campus resources.
• Implement learning practices and techniques as designed by Learning Specialists.
• Complete brief written reports regarding work with student-athletes and maintain regular communications with full-time staff.
• Maintain Academic Integrity and follow all policies and procedures of the University, NCAA, and Conference.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Act ethically and seek guidance when unsure of laws, rules, or policies.
• Participate in assigned education and training programs.
• Comply with all laws, policies, rules, and regulations set forth by governing bodies.
