About the position

The Strength Analyst Engineer 4 position at United Launch Alliance, LLC. is a critical role focused on leading and coaching a team responsible for conducting strength, fatigue, and fracture analysis on structural components and assemblies. The successful candidate will be expected to leverage their expertise in engineering analysis to ensure the integrity and reliability of designs used in various mechanical systems. This role requires a deep understanding of analysis best practices, as well as the ability to create and review analysis models and perform hand calculations to provide strength inputs and recommendations for both existing and new designs. In this position, the candidate will be responsible for reviewing and approving 3-D engineering layouts, models, designs, and 2-D drawing changes. They will make engineering design recommendations that take into account various factors such as thermal, mechanical, and pressure loading, utilizing appropriate material properties and safety factors. The results of these analyses will be documented in comprehensive strength reports, which are essential for maintaining high standards of engineering excellence. The role also involves leading and supporting internal peer reviews, tabletop reviews, and formal design reviews as necessary. The candidate will evaluate hardware non-conformances to support production activities and will actively participate in both internal and external design reviews and technical interchange meetings (TIMs). Presenting analysis products at preliminary and critical design reviews (PDR/CDR) will also be a key responsibility, requiring strong communication and presentation skills.
