About the position

The Strength and Conditioning Assistant Coach will serve as the primary coach for all varsity intercollegiate athletic sports teams at Keiser University. This role involves leading and implementing strength and conditioning programs year-round, managing the budget for weight room equipment, and ensuring compliance with NAIA and Conference rules. The coach will create a positive workout environment, instruct student-athletes on safety and proper techniques, and collaborate with head coaches and sports medicine personnel to optimize athlete performance and care.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement strength and conditioning programs for all varsity sports teams year-round.
  • Manage the yearly budget and purchasing for weight room equipment, including scheduling maintenance and repairs.
  • Administer the year-round nutritional program for all student-athletes.
  • Ensure compliance with NAIA and Conference rules related to Strength and Conditioning.
  • Create a positive and motivating workout environment and culture.
  • Instruct, monitor, and evaluate strength and conditioning, speed, and agility programs for all sport teams.
  • Teach and ensure proper safety measures in weight training facilities.
  • Communicate and collaborate with head coaches to facilitate scheduling and training needs.
  • Design and implement strength and conditioning programs based on position and skill level.
  • Collaborate with Sports Medicine personnel for athlete management and rehabilitation programs.
  • Direct and instruct other coaches, assistants, and interns on sport performance-related issues.
  • Provide presentations to student-athletes and parents during recruiting visits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology, Sports Sciences, or a similar field.
  • Certification as a Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCS or NSCA) or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
  • 1-3 years of college or high school coaching experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Exercise Science.
  • Three or more years of experience in Sports Performance/Strength and Conditioning.
