About the position

The Strength and Conditioning Assistant Coach at Keiser University is responsible for leading and implementing strength and conditioning programs for all varsity intercollegiate athletic teams. This role involves overseeing the budget for weight room equipment, administering nutritional programs, ensuring compliance with NAIA and conference rules, and fostering a positive workout environment. The coach will also instruct and evaluate athletes' performance, collaborate with head coaches, and manage other coaching staff and interns.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Strength and Conditioning Coach for all varsity intercollegiate athletic sports teams.
  • Provide leadership, oversight, and implementation of strength and conditioning programs year-round.
  • Oversee yearly budget and purchasing for weight room equipment and schedule maintenance and repair of all equipment.
  • Administer the year-round nutritional program for all student-athletes.
  • Ensure compliance with all NAIA and Conference rules related to Strength and Conditioning.
  • Create a positive and motivating workout environment and culture.
  • Instruct, monitor, and evaluate strength and conditioning, speed, and agility programs for all sport teams.
  • Teach proper safety measures and oversee weight training facilities.
  • Communicate and collaborate with head coaches to facilitate scheduling and training needs.
  • Design, implement, teach, and demonstrate strength and conditioning programs based on position and skill level.
  • Collaborate with Sports Medicine personnel for athlete management and rehabilitation programs.
  • Direct and instruct full-time, part-time coaches, graduate assistants, interns, and volunteers on sport performance-related issues.
  • Provide presentations to student-athletes and parents during on-campus recruiting visits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology and Sports Sciences or a similar field.
  • Certification as a Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCS or NSCA) or ability to obtain within one year of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Exercise Science.
  • Three or more years of experience in Sports Performance/Strength and Conditioning.
