About the position

The Stress Relief General Foreman at Bechtel Corporation is responsible for overseeing safe work practices and ensuring compliance with safety regulations on the Port Arthur LNG project. This role involves providing guidance to foremen and crews, monitoring work progress, and coordinating activities among various crafts to maintain project schedules and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safe work observations to promote a zero-accident culture.
• Provide feedback and consequences for safe and unsafe behaviors.
• Read and interpret blueprints and job specifications, implementing Bechtel procedures and work rules.
• Understand project work scope and integrate priorities effectively.
• Instruct journeymen on specific craft tasks and safety procedures.
• Coordinate work between different craft disciplines.
• Administer and enforce work and safety rules consistently.
• Provide guidance to foremen to prevent work stoppages.
• Assign work plans based on priorities and schedules.
• Identify problems and develop action plans to minimize disruptions.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to avoid scheduling conflicts.
• Ensure quality of work performed by supervised crafts.
• Submit accurate reports regarding time sheets, backcharges, and work status.
• Ensure foremen and crews understand assignments before work begins.
• Encourage the exchange of ideas among team members.
• Administer praise and discipline fairly and consistently.
• Participate in weekly scheduling meetings to provide input on work preplanning.
• Monitor work progress and report potential schedule issues.

Requirements

• Typically requires 8 years of industrial construction experience.
• At least 4 years in supervisory roles.
