The position involves verifying, abstracting, and determining the appropriate stroke coding for ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke in relation to clinical care, prehospital care, clinical procedures, occurrences, audit filters, demographic data, and stroke core measures and performance improvement indicators. The role also includes maintaining the Temple Stroke Registry and the 'Get With the Guidelines Stroke' database in collaboration with the American Heart/Stroke Association. The individual will provide standard and ad hoc reports to support performance improvement projects, research, outcomes analysis, and community outreach. Additionally, the position requires maintaining compliance with all standards for Joint Commission Primary and Comprehensive Stroke Center accreditation and the AHA/ASA, as well as adhering to all regulatory and accrediting body requirements regarding the processing of stroke patient data.
