About the position

STRONGSVILLE COMMUNITY THEATRE [SCT] is seeking a Community Theatre Manager to work in cooperation with the SCT Theatre Board of Directors. This part-time position, requiring approximately 20 hours per week, offers a flexible schedule that includes weekends during play productions and necessary meetings. The salary for this role ranges from $23,000 to $28,000, depending on qualifications. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about contributing to the growth of the community theater program and will play a key role in its ongoing success. The Community Theatre Manager will be responsible for a variety of tasks that support the strategic priorities and goals set by the SCT Board. This includes attending monthly board meetings to foster a supportive working relationship with board members, engaging in creative thinking and strategic planning to ensure the longevity of SCT, and providing leadership for fundraising efforts. The manager will also serve as a contact for SCT at community events, building relationships with local partners, and will be actively involved in all phases of play production, including recruitment and coordination of production staff and volunteers, box office management, and publication of play programs. Additionally, the manager will attend local Chamber meetings and support new and evolving SCT projects, taking on various assignments as directed by the Board of Directors. Responsibilities

  • Work with the SCT Board to set strategic priorities and clearly defined goals.
  • Attend monthly SCT Board meetings and form a supportive working relationship with the members.
  • Engage in creative thinking and strategic planning to support the longevity of SCT.
  • Provide leadership for and hands-on execution of all fundraising efforts.
  • Serve as a contact for SCT at community events and build relationships with community partners.
  • Support SCT theatre productions by being actively involved in all phases of play production, including recruitment and coordination of production staff and volunteers, coordination of box office, and publication of play programs.
  • Attend local Chamber meetings.
  • Support new and evolving SCT projects.
  • Complete projects as assigned by the Board of Directors.

Requirements

  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills and basic computer literacy, including creating documents and email.
  • Ability to navigate the internet and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
  • Experience in fundraising, grant writing, and event planning is beneficial.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and passionate about promoting the performing arts and theatre.
  • Leadership ability and creative problem-solving skills.
