The Boeing Company is looking for a Structural Analysis Engineer to join our 777X Structural Analysis team in Berkeley, MO. The 777X program is actively completing certification deliverables for the passenger variant, developing a freighter variant, and supporting production. Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Experienced, Senior, and Lead Level Structural Analysis Engineers. As an Experienced (Level 3) Structural Analysis Engineer, you will develop, integrate, and document structural requirements to establish the system design. You will coordinate with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment and guide product design while verifying structural integrity using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations, and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle. You will also develop test plans and configurations, support test execution, and analyze/report test results to validate and verify that systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Additionally, you will define and document certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied, and support in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements. As a Senior (Level 4) Engineer, you will lead the development, integration, and documentation of structural requirements, coordinate with other engineering groups, and guide product design while verifying structural integrity. You will also lead the development of test plans and configurations, support test execution, and analyze/report test results. You will define and document certification and test results, support in-service products by leading investigations into failures, and develop analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of the development effort. As a Lead (Level 5) Engineer, you will plan and organize structural analysis work at the program level to assure total compliance with structural integrity and stability requirements. You will develop, integrate, and document complex or unique structural requirements, coordinate with other engineering groups, and guide product design while defining requirements for the development of analytical methods, finite element models/simulations, and other analysis tools. You will work with customers and regulatory agencies to define certification processes, review and approve certification results, and develop test plans and configurations. You will also investigate emerging technologies to develop future product designs to meet projected requirements. This position is expected to be 100% onsite, and the selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position must meet export control compliance requirements, and a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. -120.15 is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, integrate and document structural requirements to establish the system design.
  • Coordinate with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment.

  • Develop test plans and configurations, support test execution, and analyze/report test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Define and document certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.
  • Support in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.
  • Lead development, integration, and documentation of structural requirements as a Senior Engineer.
  • Develop analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of the development effort as a Senior Engineer.
  • Plan and organize structural analysis work at the program level as a Lead Engineer.
  • Work with customers and regulatory agencies to define certification processes that will ensure requirements are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
  • 3+ years of experience with aircraft structural design or analysis engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience working with Finite Element Models (FEM) and tools (NASTRAN/PATRAN).

Nice-to-haves

  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Level 4).
  • 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Level 5).
  • Experience using Boeing-specific engineering tools and processes across multiple commercial programs.
