About the position

The Structural Bridge Engineer will play a crucial role in the design, planning, and oversight of bridge construction and maintenance projects. This position involves working on various transportation projects, including those governed by the Department of Transportation (DOT), turnpikes, and municipal entities. The engineer will be responsible for performing complex structural planning, analysis, and design, ensuring that all structural aspects of transportation projects meet the required standards and specifications. In addition to design responsibilities, the Structural Bridge Engineer will prepare and review engineering plans, designs, and specifications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Coordination with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders is essential to ensure project success, requiring strong communication and collaboration skills. The role also includes conducting site inspections to verify adherence to engineering standards and specifications, as well as developing and implementing design and construction standards and guidelines to enhance project efficiency and safety. Responsibilities

  • Designing, planning, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of bridges using DOT, turnpike, and municipal transportation projects.
  • Performing complex structural planning, analysis, and design for all structural aspects of transportation projects.
  • Preparing and reviewing engineering plans, designs, and specifications.
  • Coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Conducting site inspections to ensure adherence to engineering standards and specifications.
  • Developing and implementing design and construction standards and guidelines.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • At least 2 years of experience in bridge design and construction.
  • Proficiency in MDX and LEAP Bridge software.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and MicroStation.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
