About the position

Kimley-Horn's Palm Beach Gardens office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join their Structures team. This role involves working on various structural design projects, including bridges and retaining walls, with a focus on both public and private sector initiatives. The position offers opportunities for mentorship, training, and exposure to project management aspects, making it ideal for individuals looking to grow their engineering careers.

Responsibilities

  • Work on bridges, retaining walls, and other structural design efforts related to public and/or private bridge projects.
  • Prepare bridge/structural plans, specifications, and estimates for clients.
  • Perform a variety of engineering tasks as a critical member of the team.
  • Receive both on-the-job and formal training, as well as mentorship.
  • Engage in plan production, project financials, and client interactions.

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience with a civil engineering design firm.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from an ABET accredited university in Civil Engineering.
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
  • Experience utilizing software programs for general structural analysis.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
