About the position
The Structural-Civil Engineer at Boston Government Services, LLC. will support the nuclear solutions mission at the Y12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN. This role involves providing structural design engineering support for facility and production area activities, ensuring compliance with nuclear quality assurance standards and consensus design codes. The engineer will collaborate with various engineering disciplines and plant organizations to produce timely design outputs, contributing to the maintenance of national security missions.
Responsibilities
- Provide design output documentation to support minor facility modifications.
- Create design output drawings, engineering instructions, data sheets, equipment specifications, equivalency evaluations, calculations, etc.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and plant organizations to produce timely design output.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience.
- Familiarity with ASME Nuclear Quality Assurance (NQA-1) and Continued Service Agreement (CSA) related issues for non-reactor nuclear facilities.
- Understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, and Conduct of Maintenance in a nuclear regulated environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interface effectively with clients and various organizations.
- Willingness to work in a production environment.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and maintain eligibility for a security clearance.
Nice-to-haves
- Demonstrated experience in a Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) or Department of Energy (DOE) regulated environment.
- Active DOE Q clearance is preferred.
