About the position

The Structural Design Engineer 2 position involves assisting in the development, integration, and documentation of structural and interior payload system requirements. The role focuses on creating and modifying designs using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools, performing tests to validate systems, and supporting supplier development and production activities. This position is under general supervision and requires the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, integrating, and documenting structural and interior payload system requirements.
• Develop, maintain, and modify basic structural and interior payload system and component designs using 3-D CAD tools.
• Provide product definition to engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
• Perform tests to validate and verify that systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
• Assist with supplier development, test, and production activities, coordinating with suppliers to optimize design and achieve program goals.
• Support investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry from an accredited course of study.
• Typically 2 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
