About the position

The Structural Design Engineer 4 position at CTS involves leading the design and development of structural and interior payload systems for various engineering projects. This role requires oversight of design processes, integration of requirements, and collaboration with suppliers to ensure that systems meet specifications. The position is critical in advancing engineering solutions through innovative design and analysis, utilizing advanced CAD tools and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Provides oversight and direction to develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.
• Leads development, maintenance and modification of structural and interior payload system and component designs using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools.
• Leads performance, integration and analysis of tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
• Manages supplier development, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.
• Develops new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.
• Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.

Requirements

• Experience in structural design process from conceptual layout phase through build-to package release.
• Experience in Model Based Definition.
• Experience in leading a structural design team through product development.

Nice-to-haves

• CATIA, Enovia, NX CAD and Teamcenter PDM skills.
• Experience in earned value management.
