About the position

The Structural Designer/Drafter position at Actalent involves supporting project teams in delivering high-quality structural drawings across various industrial sectors, including mining, wastewater, and oil and gas. The role requires proficiency in CADWorx and steel design, with a focus on collaboration and timely completion of deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Support Designers and project team members across various industries
• Ensure structural drawing deliverables are completed on-time and within budget
• Collaborate with other design disciplines to resolve physical design clashes within the 3D model
• Review the 3D model for completeness
• Travel to client facilities to verify on-site physical design conditions
• Produce 2D structural drawing deliverables with attention to quality, consistency, and accountability.

Requirements

• 1 - 10 years of experience
• CADWorx and steel experience
• Industrial experience in mining, wastewater, oil and gas, or similar sectors
• Associate Degree in Computer Aided Design Technology preferred (CAD certificate required if non-degreed)
• Proficiency in CADworx and at least 1 major CAD software (AutoCAD or MicroStation)
• Awareness of American Concrete Institute (ACI) for foundation design
• Awareness of American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) manual for steel design
• Awareness of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations

Nice-to-haves

• Proficiency with Bentley Open Buildings Designer
• Experience with Autodesk Navisworks, Autodesk Revit, and Trimble Tekla valued but not required
