As a Structural Engineer at Black & Veatch, you will play a crucial role in the design and analysis of transmission line projects. This position offers the opportunity to support design engineering and analysis on various transmission scopes, where you will collect and assimilate data for engineering work, perform research, and prepare calculations in accordance with Black & Veatch and industry standards. You will be responsible for developing recommendations for equipment and materials while ensuring that all work is completed within budget, project schedule, and quality requirements. Additionally, you may assist in providing guidance to engineering team members and maintaining positive client relations through effective communication with the project team. In this role, you will function as a technical specialist or in a lead capacity, applying advanced engineering techniques and analyses with minimal supervision. You will be expected to expand your knowledge and skill set in your area of discipline, contributing to the continuous improvement and change management efforts within the organization. As part of the BV Operations team, your skills will be aligned with projects that support various market sectors, including Governments & Environment, Energy & Process Industries, and Connectivity & Commercial. This position allows for engagement in exciting projects across the globe, from small community improvements to large-scale Mega Projects, all while focusing on your individual development and career growth. Your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with engineering standards, preparing complex engineering deliverables, managing assigned budgets and schedules, and actively coordinating with internal and external team members on moderately complex projects. You will also be responsible for identifying key client interests and drivers, communicating these to project team members, and developing approaches to accommodate client concerns. As a recognized technical specialist, you will design complete projects of moderately complex scope within your assigned practice area, while also assisting with performance management processes, mentoring, and training of junior staff.
