Moffatt & Nichol is seeking an Entry Level Bridge Engineer to join our Raleigh office, specializing in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects. In this role, you will utilize structural analysis software for design tasks, including Leap Bridge Concrete, Leap Bridge Steel, Open Bridge Modeler, STAAD, and SAP2000. You will work under supervision to complete design tasks and gradually learn to work independently. Coordination with other disciplines and the construction team is essential, as is becoming familiar with various structural standards and building codes, such as AASHTO, AREMA, and UPRR/BNSF guidelines. You will compile data, perform calculations for drawings and design studies, prepare cost estimates, and assist in the preparation of construction documents. Collaboration with the Bridge and Rail Team and conducting bridge inspections will also be part of your responsibilities. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, with a Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred. Candidates should have 0 to 2 years of experience, with EIT certification and internship experience being advantageous. Familiarity with NCDOT projects and software such as MicroStation and Open Bridge Modeler is desirable. Excellent communication skills and a willingness to travel are essential for success in this role. All new hires must pass a pre-employment background check in compliance with NIST 800-171, and employment is contingent upon the legal ability to work in the U.S.
