About the position

The Structural Engineer position at raSmith involves performing structural design for various building projects, contributing to a range of sectors including healthcare, commercial, and institutional buildings. Responsibilities

  • Perform structural design of various building projects.
  • Develop design documents, calculations, specifications, and construction administration.
  • Design structural systems of cast-in-place and post-tensioned concrete, structural steel, masonry, and wood framing.
  • Work on a variety of healthcare, commercial, industrial, multi-family residential, mixed-use, and institutional buildings.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Civil Engineering from a U.S. accredited college or university is required.
  • Master's of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from a U.S. accredited college or university is preferred.
  • Five (5) plus years of structural design experience including various building systems and materials.
  • Engineer In Training certification required with a desire to obtain Professional Engineer Licensure.
  • Working knowledge of various structural analysis and design programs including RISA 3D and RAM Structural System.
  • Revit experience is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Applicable U.S. based work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from a U.S. accredited college or university is preferred.
  • Revit experience is a plus.
