About the position

The Structural Engineer - Dams & Waterfront position involves contributing to innovative design solutions for dams and related hydraulic structures. The role requires expertise in structural engineering, focusing on safety, analysis, and construction phase engineering for various civil works projects. The engineer will be part of a collaborative team dedicated to creating sustainable solutions and will engage in both field inspections and detailed design work.

Responsibilities

• Perform evaluation and analysis, design, and construction phase review of dams and hydraulic structures.
• Conduct structural inspections and field activities at various project sites.
• Compile data and develop reports on inspections and design summaries.
• Assist in developing design concepts, methodologies, and constructability reviews.
• Prepare detailed design calculations, technical reports, and construction plans for complex structures.
• Engage with technical societies to stay updated on engineering standards and practices.

Requirements

• BS in Civil/Structural Engineering
• Registered Professional Engineer or on track for licensing
• 5+ years of experience in structural design
• Technical knowledge in reinforced concrete and steel frame structures
• Familiarity with national engineering design codes and standards
• Experience with STAAD PRO, GT STRUDL, MathCAD, and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with design of gravity dams and hydraulic structures
• Familiarity with dam safety guidelines from U.S. agencies
• Experience with post-tensioned anchor systems
• Knowledge of Excel VBA and Matlab for computations.
