About the position

As a Structural Engineer professional within our Advanced Manufacturing team, you will work on a variety of projects related to Data Centers, including new builds, retrofits, colocations, and more. Your role will involve performing various aspects of structural engineering assignments, which will enhance your familiarity with design methods and tools. You will be a key asset, contributing to a diverse team of engineers and designers on various size capital projects. In this position, you will liaise with other internal professionals and design departments for project delivery and coordinate designs with other Jacobs offices both domestically and internationally. This role offers you the opportunity to grow technically and professionally as you gain more experience and expand your leadership role within the organization. Your contributions will include performing a variety of analyses, creating computer models for structures, and conducting calculations for member designs and foundations. You will also be responsible for material take-offs for estimating, preparation of miscellaneous calculations, and assisting with schedules. Responsibilities

  • Performing a variety of analysis
  • Creating computer models for structures
  • Performing calculations for member designs and foundations
  • Conducting material take-offs for estimating
  • Preparing miscellaneous calculations
  • Assisting with schedules
  • Liaising with internal professionals and design departments for project delivery
  • Coordinating designs with other Jacobs offices both domestically and internationally

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Extensive history of professional experience in structural engineering
  • Knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCad, Revit, MicroStation, and S3D
  • Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA or STAAD
  • Knowledge and application of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, AIST Technical Report 13, and other industry relevant design codes and standards
  • Knowledge and application of Building Codes
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite software including MS Teams for remote coordination
  • Ability to travel to various client's sites for this role, estimated at 10% to 20% of the time

Nice-to-haves

  • Master of Science in Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer with the ability to become registered in additional states
  • Experience with industrial metals projects including casting and rolling operations or similar heavy industrial projects
  • Ability to lead teams to deliver commitments on schedule and on budget while meeting quality and client expectations
