As a Structural Engineer-in-Training (EIT) on our transportation team, you will be part of Stantec's dynamic group of over 500 bridge engineers responsible for expanding our bridge engineering capabilities and working on a wide variety of innovative and diverse projects. This entry-level position is designed for individuals looking to develop their skills in evaluating, designing, specifying, and developing plans for various infrastructure projects, including bridges and transportation-related structures. You will work under the supervision of a Senior Bridge Engineer, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to the successful completion of projects that support our communities and enhance regional connectivity. In this role, you will assist with the design of bridges, walls, culverts, and sign structures, ensuring compliance with California DOT practices and AASHTO LRFD standards. You will conduct engineering investigations, feasibility studies, and cost and risk analyses, while also assessing and identifying bridge load ratings. Utilizing advanced structural analysis and design software, you will help complete bridge construction plans and specifications, prepare structural computations, and assist in material quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
