About the position

The Structural Engineer I (E.I.T.) position at Enclos is an entry-level role designed for recent graduates or those with limited experience in structural engineering. The role focuses on providing engineering services related to the design, fabrication, and installation of curtainwall systems. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced engineers, gaining hands-on experience in structural design and contributing to high-profile projects.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic structural engineering analysis and design calculations under the supervision of a P.E.
• Drafts solutions using hand sketches and computer-aided design (CAD).
• Analyzes systems and components using hand calculations and computer-aided engineering (CAE) software.
• Designs facades that comply with building codes, material design codes, project specifications, and vendor literature.
• Collaborates in diverse teams to solve abstract and complex problems.
• Communicates effectively, presenting information and responding to questions from supervising P.E.
• Completes assigned tasks with clear and specific objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) from an ABET accredited four-year College or University in Engineering, preferably Civil or Structural.
• I.T. Certificate is required; committed to obtaining P.E. Registration after required experience is preferred.
• 1 year engineering internship is preferred.
• Ability to support P.E. in writing technical reports and business correspondence.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as geometry, algebra, trigonometry, exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
• Ability to apply engineering concepts in two and three dimensions, including statics, mechanics of materials, and stress and strain.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Proficiency in CAD, Word Processing, spreadsheet, Email, and Internet software.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with STAAD Pro v8, MathCAD, Autodesk AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit or similar design and analysis software.
• Strong spatial and visual aptitude.
