About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled Permanent Structural Engineer to join our team in the Engineering industry. As a Permanent Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and testing structures to ensure they are safe, efficient, and meet all regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate must have experience in engineering, structural engineering, and Autocad. Our firm is small in numbers but highly collaborative, with four principals overseeing every project. Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze structures such as buildings, bridges, and tunnels to ensure they meet safety standards and are efficient.
  • Use Autocad to create detailed designs and blueprints.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget.
  • Conduct site visits to ensure the construction is progressing as planned and make any necessary adjustments.
  • Perform calculations and simulations to ensure the structures can withstand natural disasters such as earthquakes and hurricanes.
  • Ensure all designs meet regulatory requirements and obtain necessary permits.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks accordingly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in engineering, structural engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficient in Autocad and other design software.
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Masters Degree in Engineering
  • Professional License (CE or SE)
  • Experience in Construction Industry, particularly artic / cold regions
