Moffatt & Nichol is seeking a Junior Level Structural Engineer specializing in Offshore Wind (OSW) to join our dedicated ports practice. This position will primarily focus on the planning, logistical modeling, and detailed design of ports that support the growing offshore wind industry. The successful candidate will be based in one of our preferred locations: Oakland or Costa Mesa, CA, with alternative locations including Walnut Creek or Long Beach, CA, or Seattle, WA. As a leader in waterfront infrastructure projects, Moffatt & Nichol is recognized globally for its expertise in marine and port facilities, and this role is critical in supporting our mission to innovate and enhance the infrastructure that serves our coastlines and harbors. In this role, you will perform site selection and feasibility studies for proposed OSW ports, analyze existing port infrastructure, and collaborate with our logistics modeling team to create and assess OSW port models. You will also work closely with the OSW ports team to evaluate project operational requirements and develop supporting port layouts and concept designs. Staying current with industry trends and participating in client meetings will be essential aspects of your responsibilities. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to produce and present effective reports and presentations to our clients.
