Moffatt & Nichol is seeking a Junior Level Structural Engineer specializing in Offshore Wind (OSW) to join our dedicated ports practice. This position will primarily focus on the planning, logistical modeling, and detailed design of ports that support the offshore wind industry. The successful candidate will be based in one of our preferred locations: Oakland or Costa Mesa, CA, with alternative locations including Walnut Creek, Long Beach, CA, or Seattle, WA. As a recognized leader in marine and port facilities, Moffatt & Nichol offers a dynamic work environment where innovative solutions are developed for complex waterfront infrastructure projects. In this role, you will perform site selection and feasibility studies for proposed OSW ports, analyze existing port infrastructure, and collaborate with the OSW port logistics modeling team to create and analyze port models. You will also work closely with the OSW ports team to assess project operational requirements and develop supporting port layouts and concept designs. Staying current with industry trends and the US and international work pipeline is essential, as is coordinating with various design teams to ensure comprehensive project execution. Periodic site visits and field investigations will be part of your responsibilities, along with attending client meetings and producing effective presentations and reports for our OSW port clients.
