About the position

As a Structural Engineer specializing in Railroad Bridge Design at Olsson, you will be responsible for providing project design through CAD drafting, guiding drafters in creating design drawings, and preparing project schedules for railroad bridge projects. The role involves research, technical report writing, and site observations, with a focus on collaboration and client interaction.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic project design through CAD drafting.
• Instruct drafters on creating drawings of designs.
• Prepare project schedules for railroad bridge projects.
• Perform research and write technical reports.
• Travel to job sites for observation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Must obtain Engineer Intern (EI) certificate.
• Minimum of 2 years prior experience working with Railroad Structures.
• Experience supporting railroad projects and clients.
• Strong problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
• Dependable actions and honest communication in a team environment.
• Ability to leverage software for modeling, calculation, automation, and rapid drafting.

Nice-to-haves

• Survey and/or structure design background.
• Experience in Microstation, Risa 3D analysis, and Bluebeam Revu.
• Applicable experience coordinating with other railroad engineering disciplines.
