About the position

The Structural Engineer position offers an exciting opportunity with a national leader in the wholesale building materials industry, located in the Cincinnati area. This role provides the chance for professional growth into more senior technical or management positions. The position involves conducting structural evaluations and calculations for both residential and commercial applications, ensuring compliance with building codes, and utilizing engineering software tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide structural evaluations/calculations for residential and commercial exterior applications.
• Calculate applied loads to systems, including deck frames in wood and aluminum, railings, and wind loads.
• Demonstrate general knowledge of Building Science and Building Envelope details, components, and installation techniques.
• Lead internal and third-party testing and analysis of products to ensure compliance with applicable building code requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Architectural or Mechanical Engineering).
• Experience in structural design for commercial and/or residential projects.
• Knowledge of building envelope experience, particularly with cladding and siding systems.
• Proficiency in engineering software tools (CAD, MATLAB, etc.) and data analysis tools.
