About the position

Hatch is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join its Structural team in Tampa, FL. This role involves participating in a variety of projects related to civil foundations and structural steel design, including site investigations and finite element modeling. The position requires strong leadership and technical skills to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Perform specific engineering studies, calculations, and design analyses using industry software.
• Evaluate the work of technical staff and provide feedback based on client needs.
• Establish budgets, cost estimates, and project schedules related to structural engineering scope.
• Lead the development of technical documentation, specifications, drawings, requisitions, proposals, and presentations to clients.
• Assist in the preparation and development of project-specific procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Structural engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) License is required.
• Minimum 10-15 years of experience in structural engineering.
• Broad knowledge of structural engineering practices related to plant constructability and construction methods.
• Proficient with building and design codes (IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC) and structural analysis software like Staad Pro.
• Experience with 2D and 3D CADD applications such as MicroStation or AutoCAD.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues.
• Ability to lead and work with engineering staff at all levels.
• Multidisciplinary engineering knowledge.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills to convey technical information.
• Organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
• Strong computer knowledge including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent safety awareness.
