About the position

The Structural Engineer position at Metromont Corporation involves the cost-efficient design of precast concrete systems, connections, and components. The role requires coordination with drafter/modelers and other engineers to ensure successful project completion, as well as independent management of engineering design aspects with minimal guidance. The engineer will perform calculations, review contract documents, attend project meetings, and resolve design issues, while also ensuring adherence to Metromont standards and processes.

Responsibilities

• Design precast concrete systems, connections, and components cost-effectively.
• Coordinate with drafter/modelers and other engineers to facilitate project completion.
• Perform engineering calculations and details for all products and connections.
• Independently manage engineering design aspects of projects with minimal assistance.
• Review contract documents to understand project requirements.
• Attend project meetings and resolve engineering design issues independently.
• Assist others in resolving engineering design issues.
• Check engineering design calculations and details of others for accuracy and adherence to standards.
• Be aware of production processes through regular plant visits.
• Become licensed in states where engineering work is performed and review and stamp drawings and calculations.

Requirements

• 3-7 years of relevant engineering experience, either internal or external.
• BS in Civil Engineering required.
• Computer skills, with experience in engineering design software preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
• Ability to maintain project schedules and work within a project team.
• Proactive in addressing project issues.
• Ability to document ongoing information on projects for recordkeeping.
