About the position

GHD is seeking a Structural Engineer to join their Honolulu, Hawai'i office. This role involves delivering structural engineering projects for local government and U.S. Federal Sector contracts, focusing on a variety of projects including government and commercial buildings, industrial facilities, utility structures, bridges, and water/wastewater systems. The position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects while supporting clients across Hawai'i and other Pacific Island locations.

Responsibilities

• Support effective relationships with key clients in the Pacific such as NAVFAC, Air Force, GWA, CUC, DPW, DoT, and private entities.
• Deliver structural engineering on a variety of U.S. Federal projects and local government projects.
• Prepare structural reports, plans, specifications, and calculations.
• Collaborate with cross-discipline teams on other market sector projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's and/or Master's degree from an ABET accredited school in Structural Engineering or a similar degree.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering experience with exposure to defense, water/wastewater, architectural, industrial, transportation, or related projects.
• Registered Professional Engineer in Hawai'i or ability to obtain Hawai'i electrical license within 6 months.
• Experience working with the Uniform Facilities Criteria (UFC) and other Department of Defense engineering requirements.
• Experience working with the International Building Code.
• Documented success at all stages of the project life-cycle, including writing feasibility studies, preparing basis of design reports, and providing construction support.

Nice-to-haves

• Other state engineering registrations such as California, Guam, and CNMI may be considered.
