About the position

We are a growing civil engineering firm specializing in the structural inspection of bridges and other structures. Our commitment to quality is paramount, and we pride ourselves on our diverse multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing the best possible services to our clients. Our work encompasses routine inspections as well as specialized underwater and climbing inspections, utilizing advanced commercial diving and rope access techniques. We are currently seeking a Bridge Inspection Engineer-Diver who will play a crucial role in our operations. This position requires a team-oriented individual with a passion for outdoor work and a commitment to producing high-quality engineering products. As a Team Leader, the selected candidate will direct the work of team members and coordinate with clients to ensure that all inspections are conducted efficiently and effectively. The Bridge Inspection Engineer-Diver will be responsible for performing safety inspections on bridges for various Departments of Transportation across multiple states, including Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi, Colorado, Montana, and Wyoming, as well as for local government and private clients. The role also involves preparing comprehensive inspection reports that detail the conditions and defects related to the structural integrity of the bridges inspected. Additionally, the candidate will serve as a Deputy Project Manager for bridge inspection projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are managed effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Perform bridge safety inspections for various Departments of Transportation and local government clients.
  • Prepare comprehensive bridge inspection reports detailing bridge conditions and defects.
  • Serve as a Deputy Project Manager for bridge inspection projects.
  • Direct the work of team members and coordinate with clients during inspections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Professional Engineering Licensure (P.E.).
  • 4+ years of engineering experience in bridge inspection or bridge design.
  • ADCI diver certification.
  • Clear communication and organizational skills, both written and oral.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

  • CAD drafting skills (Bentley or AutoDesk Products).
