About the position

Trinity Solar is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our team in Wall, NJ. This position is situated in a fast-paced, structured process environment, where the ideal candidate will be comfortable working under tight deadlines and managing multiple projects simultaneously. The focus will be on project safety, cost, quality, and reliability. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing photovoltaic structural engineering plans, details, and calculations that are complete, accurate, and consistent with local, state, and federal engineering practices. In this role, you will work cross-functionally with other teams within and outside the engineering department to ensure that clients' needs and internal deadlines are met. You will assist in the preparation of design documents for project design, including calculations, drawings, and specifications. A significant part of your responsibilities will include stamping over 50 letters per day for structural designs of solar projects and coordinating structural-related issues with the electrical design team. You will provide engineering expertise in the design, analysis, and evaluation of solar projects, working closely with other team members to ensure successful project completion. Additionally, you will prepare technical reports and documentation to support project designs, maintain project schedules, and be responsible for meeting project deadlines while continuously improving processes and systems to ensure optimal project outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop photovoltaic structural engineering plans, details, and calculations that are complete, accurate, and consistent with local, state, and federal engineering practices.

Requirements

  • Licensed structural engineer with strong experience in the design of residential engineering projects, ideally with solar experience but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license and willingness to obtain licenses in multiple states is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering.
  • Experience with stamping structural designs for solar projects.
  • Strong knowledge of codes and standards related to solar projects.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
