About the position

The Structural Engineer - Team Lead position at Actalent involves leading and managing structural engineering projects, primarily focused on transportation infrastructure for the MTA and DOT. The role requires a highly skilled professional with a strong background in structural engineering, a PE certification, and significant experience in the field. The position offers opportunities for mentorship and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, while also providing technical guidance and project oversight.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage structural engineering projects for MTA and Amtrak, including Broadway Junction and ADA upgrades.
• Supervise drafting and drawing development.
• Mentor 2 or more junior engineers.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Prepare and present project reports and documentation to clients and stakeholders.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

Requirements

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering, focusing on transportation infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience with MTA projects is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design software.
• Familiarity with Microstation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
