As a Structural Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of small to medium size building projects as well as working as part of a large team responsible for an area on major projects, including developing concepts and producing the design. In this role, you will look for ways to improve engineering design and design processes in your discipline, while also keeping abreast of industry and technology changes and trends. You will devote 10% of your time to project management tasks and technical improvement initiatives, which include project manpower estimates, project communications, budget monitoring, and organizing deliverables. You will also be responsible for the development of typical details, specifications, and drawing standards, including the development of Revit standards in coordination with the BIM team. The majority of your time, 90%, will be dedicated to the engineering of projects. You will be responsible for the project engineering of small to medium sized projects (less than $80m in construction cost) from concept and schematic design through construction documents to construction and commissioning. Additionally, you will support a Senior Project Engineer on segments of large projects (over $100m) and provide design inputs and reviews of other engineers' projects. Your role will also involve attending meetings with clients, performing site visit surveys, and ensuring the quality and timely delivery of projects to budget. As needed, you will provide support to business development, including writing key aspects of projects and presenting work at industry events. Your performance will be measured on project results, efficiency, profitability, quality of design solutions, and client satisfaction. You will also be expected to contribute to bringing in new work and fostering a commitment to client service.
