About the position

As a structural project engineer at OHM Advisors, you will play a crucial role in transforming ideas into tangible designs. Your expertise will be essential in creating detailed drawings and specifications that ensure the stability and strength of various projects. You will be responsible for performing and reviewing calculations, checking the work of your peers, and writing comprehensive reports and evaluations. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to conduct on-site assessments to monitor construction progress and ensure that projects are completed to the highest standards. Your work will contribute to award-winning projects, such as the innovative bridge that has found a new home and purpose, and the Michigan Diverging Diamond Interchange, which has received numerous industry accolades. You will work under the supervision of a more senior engineer, focusing on design calculations and preparing construction plans and specifications specifically for bridge and culvert projects. Occasional fieldwork will involve inspecting the condition of existing bridges, allowing you to apply your analytical skills in real-world scenarios. Responsibilities

  • Design calculations and prepare construction plans and specifications for bridge and culvert projects.
  • Conduct occasional fieldwork such as condition inspection of existing bridges.
  • Perform design and analysis of various bridge structural elements.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Microstation software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Desire to grow into more elevated roles within the Structural Group and the Organization.
  • Strong communication, report writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passing of the FE examination.
  • 1+ years' experience as a Civil Engineer with a concentration in structures.
