About the position

The Structural Engineer position at HHSDR Architects and Engineers involves performing structural design and analysis for various construction projects, including renovations and new builds. The role requires a strong understanding of structural building elements and the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams, including Project Managers, Engineers, and Architects.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design and analysis for various construction assignments.
• Conduct onsite observations and reviews of active and future construction projects.
• Review construction-related materials including RFIs, substitution requests, change orders, and shop drawings/submittals.
• Work directly with the firm's Principals and coworkers as an active participant in a project design team.

Requirements

• Engineering degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of experience in Structural Engineering.
• Knowledge of and experience with AutoCAD design software and various structural design software packages (Bentley Structural WorkSuite, Enercalc, etc.).
• Working knowledge of building codes relating to building structures.
• Cost estimating skills related to building structures.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of and experience with video conferencing and media sharing technologies.
• Working knowledge of other design disciplines (architectural, civil, HVAC, plumbing, electrical) related to building construction.
