Responsibilities

  • Lead a team in the design of buildings, ensuring adherence to engineering principles and best practices.
  • Perform engineering design for components and connections, focusing on structural integrity and safety.
  • Utilize 3D finite element modeling for components and structures to enhance design accuracy.
  • Prepare project documentation in both CAD and BIM environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Manage project timelines and team dynamics to ensure successful project completion.
  • Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on engineering principles and code changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architectural, Civil, or Structural Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
  • Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) in the state of Illinois.
  • A minimum of 7 years of diverse project experience in building design with demonstrated professional growth.
  • Experience in precast/prestressed concrete design is a plus.
  • Advanced understanding of structural analysis/design fundamentals and diaphragm analysis and design.
  • Familiarity with current building and material codes and commercially-available office software (Word, Excel, Adobe/Bluebeam, etc.).
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and drafting software, as well as engineering software such as RAM suite, Risa, TEDDS, LEC Wall, etc.

Nice-to-haves
