About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team. This fully remote position is available to candidates residing in California, and it requires a licensed Professional Engineer in California or a willingness to obtain licensure within six months. The selected individual will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing various construction projects, ensuring that structures are safe and capable of withstanding the elements. This role demands a deep understanding of structural analysis and a keen eye for detail, making it essential for the candidate to have a strong background in Civil Engineering. The Structural Engineer will analyze blueprints, sketches, or building plans for upcoming projects to ensure structural soundness and compliance with design standards. Utilizing software applications such as AutoCAD, RISA, and Enercalc, the engineer will design and perfect project plans. On-site inspections will be conducted to ensure that construction adheres to established plans and standards. The engineer will also prepare and present detailed reports on project progress, costs, and designs to stakeholders, collaborating with architects, construction crews, and design teams on large projects to ensure efficient and effective execution. In addition to these responsibilities, the Structural Engineer will identify potential design improvements and optimization opportunities, develop safe and innovative structural solutions that meet client needs and expectations, and stay current with the latest design trends, techniques, and materials in structural engineering. Responsibilities

  • Analyze blueprints, sketches, or building plans for upcoming projects to ensure structural soundness and compliance with design standards.
  • Use software applications such as AutoCAD, RISA, and Enercalc to design and perfect project plans.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to ensure the construction is carried out as per the established plans and standards.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on project progress, costs, and designs to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with architects, construction crews, and design teams on large projects, ensuring efficient and effective execution.
  • Identify potential design improvements and optimization opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, RISA, Enercalc, and other structural modeling and analysis software.
  • Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software.
  • In-depth understanding of structural engineering principles and best practices.
  • Strong project management and supervision skills.
  • Exceptional ability to make decisions and solve problems effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong mathematical and IT ability with an analytical mindset.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
